This unit is a stepping stone to all things art and craft. Introductory lessons that focus on art and craft basics. Concepts like grips of dry mediums, one directional coloring, handling of paints and brushes, mixes and blends of water based mediums, crafting techniques, such as scissoring and pasting and other foundational elements will be covered. This unit equips the learner for all the sessions that follow.
In this unit, we will introduce learners to the elements of art: line and colour. Their attention will be drawn towards mediums. They will also learn different kinds of lines and techniques like zentangles, line patterns, paper folding. Then, they will learn to paint with different colours within the boundaries of the lines they create.
In this unit, learners will gain an understanding of the play of primary, secondary, and tertiary colors. We will use creative ways, like finger painting to make art.
Colours can vary just not when they are different, but also when they are mixed with other colours, shades, tones and tints. This unit will do a deep dive into colour values with other elements of art. Techniques of tie n dye, creating perspective of near and far through colour value will be this unit's outcomes.
In this unit we will learn the concept of textures by using various techniques, tools, and tricks. Materials such as recycled papers and boards (Cubism), and paint press techniques will be used to make unique artworks. Learners will also create artworks inspired by artists such as Picasso and Alma Thomas.
Your child will learn the concept of shapes and create some exciting artworks in this unit. From learning scissoring technique and overlapping technique and using shapes to create a supersonic Robot to a funny clown, this unit will inspire your child to see art in every shape.
Learners will explore form and space in art. Chalk stenciling, Origami, turning 2D to 3D, creating positive and negative space are some of the techniques taught in this unit and there will be individual artworks created around each of these techniques.
